Birkenhead Museum is located on Mahara Avenue, close to the main Birkenhead shops and neighbouring recreational parks, with easy parking nearby. Housed in the beautifully restored historic villa Farrington House, the museum shares photographs, objects and stories that bring Birkenhead’s past to life.

Group Bookings
Group visits are welcome at Birkenhead Museum. We are happy to arrange private tours for groups of five or more visitors, with volunteer guides available to share the stories behind the museum’s collections.
Visits can often be scheduled week days by mutually agreed times, day or evening, depending on volunteer availability. In the past we have hosted a wide range of groups including schools, retirement villages, clubs, family and scout groups.

School and community groups are welcome, week days by mutually agreed time, day or evening times possible. Please contact in advance to arrange a visit.
To make your visit complete we can suggest morning tea at Sugar Cafe, Bungalo Cafe or the Birkenhead RSA, as local businesses who can cater for groups.
